Bruce Wee
began dancing tango back in
1999 and been an avid
dancer of the art ever since. Born and raised in Hawaii, he began
studying tango with good friend and mentor, George Garcia. He
strives to explore all the flavors and nuances of the various
styles of tango and not be a proponent of one style over another.
Instead, trying to find the joy and richness in each of them. |

Yoko Wee spend
half her life as a dancer. A native of Japan, she learned jazz dance and
modern ballet at "Koko Kojima Dance Active" Studio where
she trained for 13
years and performed regularly with that troupe at Tokyo. Yoko discovered
Argentine Tango in Hawaii in 2002
and changed to this elegant and emotional dance. This is when Bruce and
Yoko first met. After returning to Japan, she joined the "Luna
de Tango Dance Academy" and studied under José María
Luna & Laura Mangione. She now resides in Hawaii. |

Bruce
and Yoko have been dancing and performing Argentine Tango
together since 2002. They have performed at many appearances across
Oahu, several shows in the Maui Tango Fest, and also placing as semi-finalists
in The 2006 World Tango Festival in Tokyo, Japan. They have taught
tango all
across the Hawaiian Islands including course work for the University
of Hawaii.
The embodiment of their philosophy stems from gentle yet undeniable
leading and always expressing the music as richly as possible. In
recent years, they have
been exploring the connection between Eastern Philosophies and Argentine
Tango. |
